Project Background

In August 2022, the municipalities of Jevíčko and Velké Opatovice in the Czech Republic initiated a project to upgrade their aging public lighting infrastructure. The project focused on rural roads and village streets where maintenance access is difficult and costly. The client needed a solution that was not only energy-efficient but also extremely low-maintenance to withstand the local climate.

The Challenge

• High Maintenance Costs: In rural Europe, labor costs for street light maintenance are high. The client required a fixture that allows for quick, tool-free repairs if needed.
• Rain & Dirt Accumulation: Traditional flat-back street lights often accumulate water and leaves, leading to corrosion and dirt buildup that affects cooling.
• Longevity Requirement: The lights needed to use top-tier components to ensure a lifespan exceeding 5-10 years.

The Solution

We supplied our 40W King Series LED Street Lights, specifically engineered for ease of maintenance and durability.

1. Tool-Free Maintenance: The "King" series features a buckle design that allows the back cover to be opened without any tools. This makes replacing the driver incredibly fast and easy, saving significant labor costs.

2. Self-Cleaning Streamlined Design: The housing is designed with a smooth, curved back. Rainwater washes away dust and leaves naturally, preventing accumulation and ensuring optimal heat dissipation.

3. Top-Tier Configuration: We equipped these units with high-efficiency Philips LED chips and a flexible choice of drivers (Philips/Meanwell/Inventronics) to guarantee stability. The tempered glass cover adds an extra layer of protection and is easy to clean.

Result: 3 Years of Reliable Operation (2022-2025)

Fast forward to 2025, and these lights have been operating for nearly 3 years. The feedback from the client has been excellent. The roads are well-lit, improving safety for residents, and the maintenance team has reported zero issues with water accumulation or component failure.
