Project Background

In 2020, a residential community in the USA sought to upgrade its outdoor lighting. The primary focus was on improving safety for residents in public areas such as playgrounds, pathways, and gardens. The Homeowners Association (HOA) required a sustainable solution that would eliminate electricity bills while providing reliable dusk-to-dawn illumination.

The Challenge: Safety vs. Budget

Resident Safety: Dark spots in playgrounds and walkways were a major concern for families. The lighting had to be bright enough to deter crime but comfortable for eyes (Dark Sky Friendly).
Installation Cost: Digging trenches for electrical cables in an established neighborhood would destroy landscaping and cost a fortune.
Long-Term Value: The HOA demanded a product that could last for years without requiring expensive maintenance visits.
