When it comes to illuminating high-traffic commercial districts, promises of longevity on a datasheet mean nothing without real-world proof. Installed in August 2020, this 180W LED street light project in Thailand demonstrates the ultimate reliability of the Galaxy Series under harsh tropical monsoon conditions.
The Engineering Challenge: Tropical Monsoons & High Traffic
The project is located in a bustling commercial area in Bangkok, adjacent to major shopping malls. The client faced two severe challenges that ruled out standard LED street lights:
1. The Tropical Weather Threat:
Thailand's climate alternates between extreme heat and a prolonged, heavy rainy season. Standard street lights with ribbed heat sinks trap water, leaves, and dust. In a high-humidity environment, this stagnant water quickly causes corrosion and destroys the LED driver.
2. Zero-Tolerance for Maintenance:
As seen in the photos, the installation spans heavily congested multi-lane roads and critical underpasses. Closing these roads to repair a broken light would cause massive traffic gridlock and significant financial penalties for the contractor. They needed an absolute "fit-and-forget" solution.
The Solution: 180W Galaxy Series
To meet the extreme demands of this commercial artery, we deployed the 180W Galaxy Series LED Street Light (Pure AC Power).
Overcoming the Monsoon (Streamlined Design): We specifically chose the Galaxy Series for its streamlined, smooth die-cast aluminum back. During Thailand's heavy rains, water naturally washes over the fixture, taking dust and debris with it. This "self-cleaning" architecture prevents water pooling and ensures the heat sink remains efficient year-round.
Anti-Glare Optical Performance: The 180W high output was calculated to penetrate heavy rain and illuminate wide, multi-lane roads uniformly. Crucially, the specialized optical lens controls glare even on wet, highly reflective asphalt, ensuring driver safety in commercial zones.
The Proof: Client Verified (Update: March 2026)
We don't just claim our lights last; we prove it. The daytime photos in our gallery clearly show the installation next to advertising banners dated "2563" in the Thai calendar (which corresponds to 2020).
Fast forward to March 2026—nearly 6 years later—the entire installation remains 100% operational with zero maintenance. As the EPC contractor directly stated to us via WhatsApp: "old my project use Galaxy it very good." This authentic feedback is the highest testament to our manufacturing quality.

PROJECT FAQ
Why is 180W chosen for commercial district street lighting?
High-traffic commercial areas and malls require exceptional brightness to ensure pedestrian and driver safety. The 180W Galaxy series delivers the required high lux levels for wide, multi-lane urban roads without creating dark spots.
How does the Galaxy street light survive Thailand's tropical monsoon climate?
Thailand experiences extreme heat and heavy rainy seasons. The Galaxy Series features a streamlined die-cast aluminum back without deep ribs, allowing heavy rain to naturally wash away dust, preventing water accumulation and corrosion.
